Fucoxanthin, the major ingredient in FucoLeanTM represents an entirely different method of targeting fat cells than all previous compounds. Fucoxanthin is derived from Wakame, a type of brown seaweed, found primarily in the Sea of Japan. Though fucoxanthin is found in other ocean sources such as red seaweed, several types of algae and some species of shellfish, it is most abundant in the brown seaweed, Wakame.
The pure extract of fucoxanthin found in FucoLeanTM is over 1,000 times more potent than in its natural state.
Fucoxanthin targets a specific type of fat cell known as "white adipose tissue" (WAT), which is the type of fat that accumulates around the midsection of the body, surrounding internal organs. This type of fat cell tends to increase as we age and is connected with middle age diseases such as heart disease and diabetes, not to mention what is often referred to as "middle-aged spread."
Fucoxanthin stimulates a type of "uncoupled protein" (UPC1) that breaks down white adipose fat (belly fat) by dramatically increasing the metabolic rate within the fat cell itself.
The second way fucoxanthin attacks fat is by producing a compound in the liver called docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), an omega-3 oil. There are several benefits to increased DHA; chief among them is its role in reducing LDL (bad) cholesterol and triglyceride levels. DHA has been clinically proven to lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of blood clots, improve the health of arteries and reduce the amount of arterial plaque (which narrows arteries and causes heart disease).
In human and animal studies, Fucoxanthin has been shown to reduce white adipose fat by up to 350 percent over control groups.

I love it, but may not be for everyone

I would highly recommend FucoLean more than any other diet pills that are on the market. Last year, in 2009, when I was finishing up my associates degree, I was working 2 part time jobs and also doing an internship. And if that weren't enough, I am a single mother of a now 5 year old. So I needed as much energy as I could get. I had been taking FucoThin before that, but it was too expensive for me to keep buying. So with some research, my mom found FucoLean and suggested I try it. The price was right and it was just about the same as FucoThin. But with FucoLean, I liked the fact that there were only 2 capsules (one at breakfast, one at lunch) to take during the day. With exercise and eating healthier, I ended up losing quite a bit of weight and had enough energy to last me throughout the day for 12+ hours. My day would normally start at 6 a.m. and end anywhere between 11 to midnight throughout the week. I wasn't jittery or overwhelmed with energy. It was enough for what I needed and wanted to do. And when it was time for bed, I was able to fall asleep without any problems. I am also very sensitive when it comes to caffeine. Another plus was my moods were much better and I could think clearer. Unfortunately once my internship and jobs ended, I quit taking the supplement and as a result, my weight came back. I don't blame it on the product, because when I started my new job, I was working close to full time at night; which messed up my eating schedule. Plus I was also still a full time student during the day. So my complete schedule had been compromised. Now a year later, I am now almost finished with my first full semester of school at a university. And even though my schedule has calmed down quite a bit, I still lacked energy to workout, eat properly, and to keep up with my schoolwork. Knowing something needed to change, I took FucoLean for the first time in over a year and immediately I felt wonderful. I even came home and cleaned up my house. Normally when I come home from class, I'm ready to just lay on the couch and take a nap. My mood again has changed for the better and I love the effect Fucolean has on me. And to be honest, if I have to take it for the rest of my life, then I will. Because I feel better all the way around. I have more energy to keep up with my 5 yr old, my housework, and my schoolwork. I realize it's only been a day, but I felt the same way a year ago when I was taking this too :). I know that this will effect everyone differently. But for me, I have found something that works and I will continue to use it from now on.
