It's no magic bullet

I am an active person, and I exercise on a regular basis, but like many people out there I carry around a few extra pounds I could do without. So when I had a chance to try out this product I thought, "Hey, I'll give it a shot."Here's what I did. I continued on my usual exercise routine (running 3x/week for a total of about 15 miles total/week - which helps me maintain my weight, given my dietary choices), but I'd supplement my diet with Bio-Synergy Performance Thermogen.I took the supplement 3x/day as directed and kept exercising. I have not exercised any more or less, or pushed myself any more or less than I usually do, and I didn't change my diet or total caloric intake. It was easy to standardize my exercise since I run on a treadmill - just set the time and speed. This has gone on for a couple of weeks now.My prediction when I stared this experiment was that if Bio-synergy Performance supplement really does enhance weight loss I should see loss of weight while I'm using it consistently and maintaining my pattern of exercise and diet that normally results in maintaining my currently weight.I kept an eye on my weight and exercise and diet, and so far I haven't seen any significant change in my weight. It just keeps bobbing up and down around my usual average weight.Of course the maker may suggest that results may vary between users, but the bottom line is that some of the components of the supplement are caffieine-like (Mate) and can give someone the impression of additional energy, thus causing them to exercise longer or more intensely, but in an of itself this supplement does not, in my experience, produce weight loss.I do acknowledge another user of this product's comment when he said that when they were using the supplement, he found himself motivated to work harder during his workouts, and thus experienced some change in total % body fat. My experience, as stated above, is that if you maintain your current regime of diet and exercise you will probably see the same results you are already getting.The major effects I experienced from using this supplement included 1) a slight increase in caffeine-like energy and 2) burps that taste like hay smells.IMO, don't waste your money in the hopes of this being a weight-loss miracle.The bottom line when it comes to weight loss is this...if you consistently burn more calories than you consume you will lose weight. If you don't, you won't. It's ALL about energy in and energy out.2 stars (because I can't say that I "hated" it.)

Subtle, but effective over time!

Everyone who wishes to have those lean, washboard abs typically wants them with minimal work, in the shortest time frame possible. No matter what grandiose, exciting claims a company makes regarding the efficacy of their fat-burning pills, there is no magic bullet. To lose fat effectively, safely and, most important of all, permanently, nothing tops tried-and-true diet and exercise.Now, that being said, there are products available that will give you an extra push in achieving your goals, and I have tried many of them: OxyELITE Pro (now off the market, sadly), BPI Sports Roxylean 60 Caps, 1 month supply, 0.15-Pound, Muscletech Hydroxystim Capsules, 100 Count, Grenade Nutrition Supplement, 100 Count, Cellucor Super HD Weight Loss, Appetite Control 120 Ct., Cellucor D4 Thermal Shock 120 Capsules, and many others. (Note: I don't have fat to lose, per say, I just work for a nutrition company and test a lot of the products we sell.) Many of these products work really well, but most are stimulant-heavy, with caffeine being the primary ingredient. So, having read the sparse ingredient profile of Bio-Synergy Thermogen, I was intrigued and excited to try it out.As pointed out in the description, and by others, Thermogen is comprised of just three ingredients: Yerba Mate, Guarana Seed, and Kola Nut Oil. No added caffeine anhydrous, willow bark, yohimbe, or other typical agents to be found here. And while Yerba, Guarana and Kola Nut Oil are typically sources of caffeine, it's hard to know exactly how much is provided in this blend, as they're part of the 900mg "proprietary blend," which is unfortunate. Is it as much as a cup of coffee or tea, or Monster Energy, or are they completely de-caf? Alas, we may never know.Regardless, as it turns out, the proprietary blend seems to be adequately dosed, as Thermogen definitely has positive benefits, given enough time. You take 2 capsules, three times per day, which might seem like a lot of pill-popping (especially compared to other fat-burner/thermogenics on the market) but that's only because of the lack of extra stimulants. So, you'll unlikely see results within the first few days, but over the course of a few weeks, you will definitely notice a decrease in water retention, subcutaneous fat, and have increased vascularity, as well as a noticeably suppressed appetite and boosted energy levels throughout the day. But the biggest plus, in my opinion, is the lack of highs and subsequent crashes you normally experience on this type of product -- meaning, no grouchiness at the end of the day!So, is Thermogen worth it? Well, at the current price, maybe. One bottle works out to just shy of three week's worth of pills, and given the time needed to truly see results on Thermogen, a couple of bottles will likely be required. But, if you have patience, and you are eating well and exercising regularly, Thermogen will definitely help you achieve your weight-loss goals. Is this the "magic bullet" everyone is seeking? No, clearly not. But if you want a great low-stimulant product with quality ingredients, you can't go wrong here.

Thermogen

I exercise regularly, both weight training and cardio, and I also take some protein and energy supplements throughout the day. Putting the bio-synergy performance thermogen supplement into my daily routine (without drastically changing my day-to-day activities or eating habits) produced limited results that I'm not sure I can concretely attribute to my taking this supplement. I recently started eating dinner a few hours earlier and only with that have I noticed a drop in weight of some 2 lbs, but is this the effects of thermogen or simply more time for my body to burn the calories that I eat during dinner? Overall I can't say I felt an increase in energy and considering that I've been taking this supplement for weeks and the only results I'm seeing are quite limited I can't say I'd recommend this product.
